Pitri Paksha : 08-22 Sept. 2006 : Fortnight for forefathers The fortnight recommended by Veda to pray and perform sacraments
of forefathers. In this period the forefathers expect prayers and sacraments
for the peace of their soul. The Yagya on these days can eliminate evils caused
by the curses of forefathers and brings family harmony. People who didn't have
good cremation or sacrament after death, can have their sacraments on these
days offered by their family people or children.

Navratri
: 23 - 30 Sept 2006 The 9 nights of Mother Devine Durga The most auspicious 9 day period of the year for mother divine
Durga. Navratri means nine + nights. These nine nights are the nights when all
9 powers (shakti) of Goddess Durga come out and receive the prayers from the
devotee. The 9 shaktis are as - Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta,
Kushmanda, skandmata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri, Siddhidatri, and are
every day worshipped as per the sequence. The specialty of this period is that,
good or bad, whatever you do, certainly results. Several people do Siddhi in
this period several do Tantra Sadhna (negative) too.

work, economy, power, family and health.
